Discretion Above All
The identities of all recipient families are strictly confidential. Recipients are never discussed, never identified, and never made to feel anything other than valued members of our community.
Sixteen years of quiet chesed in Middlesex County.
The Suri Granek a"h Tomchei Shabbos of Middlesex County was founded in 2009 to ensure that families in our community never have to face Shabbos without what they need.
Every week, without exception, our volunteers gather on Wednesday nights at Congregation Ahavas Achim in Highland Park to pack and distribute Shabbos boxes to families across Highland Park, Edison, and East Brunswick.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, run entirely by community volunteers and sustained by community donations. We receive no government funding.
Support Our WorkThe values that guide everything we do.

Families rely on us. That means Shabbos boxes go out every single week — including Yom Tov, holiday weeks, and summer months. 52 weeks a year, without fail.
Every box is packed by a neighbor, delivered by a neighbor. This is what a kehilla looks like — people showing up for each other, quietly and without fanfare.
Tomchei Shabbos of Middlesex County was established in 2009 in memory of Suri Granek a"h, a beloved member of our community whose spirit of giving continues to inspire everything we do.
Over sixteen years, we have grown from a small local effort into a well-organized weekly operation serving families throughout Highland Park, Edison, and East Brunswick — all while maintaining the quiet, personal approach that has always defined us.
Our annual fundraising concert has become a community tradition, bringing together some of the best names in Jewish music to support our work and celebrate the spirit of giving.
Packing takes a few hours. The impact lasts all Shabbos. Come be part of it.
